Odessa: Air Attack rocked the Ukrainian strategic black sea port, Odessa Sunday morning, according to an Interior Ministry official, after Kyiv warned that Russia tried to consolidate its troops in the south.
“Odessa was attacked from the air,” Anton Herashchenko, advisor to the Minister of Home Affairs, wrote on his telegram account.
“Fire was reported in several regions. Some missiles were shot down by air defense.”
An AFP reporter heard the explosion in the southwestern city around 6:00 a.m. (0300 GMT).
The explosion sent at least three columns of black smoke with fire seen apparently in the industrial area.
A soldier near the site of one of the strikes said it was possible rockets or missiles.
The attack arose when Russian troops seem to withdraw from the north of the country.
On Friday, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Russia consolidating and preparing a “strong strike” in the south, joining the choir of Western Assessment which was grouped by Moscow’s troops.
