'An inspiration to youth': Former WWE star The Great Khali joins BJP

Professional wrestler and world wrestling entertainment (WWE) Dalip Singh Rana, better known for Big Khali, joined BJP on Thursday.

Khali reached the BJP headquarters in Delhi the previous day and was welcomed into a folded party at an induction ceremony at 1pm.

“With the big end of the one who joined us, it would be a source of inspiration for young people and other people in the country,” said Minister of Union and Senior BJP leader Jitendra Singh.

The Great Khali, 49, is a former worldweight champion that continued to be appointed to the prestigious WWE FAME class 2021 in the United States.

In his duty as a professional wrestler at WWE, Khali went toe-toe with several biggest wrestling stars, and won the world heavyweight championship in 2007.

Because of his success in WWE, The Great Khali made Cameos in several Hollywood films, such as Macgruber, becoming smart, and Adam Sandler-Starrer the longest page. He also appeared on the big boss reality show.

Khali comes from the small town of Dhiraina in the Sirmaur District in Himachal Pradesh. After his retirement from WWE, he opened continental wrestling entertainment, promotion of Indian professional wrestling and training academies.
